Description: The Helichrysum Italicum plant grows wild in Mediterranean regions. It can be found in regions with dry, high altitudes with a lot of sun exposure.

History: The word Helichrysum is derived from the Greek word helios meaning sun and chrysos meaning gold. This is a reference to the golden color of many of the flowers from this botanical genus. Helichrysum has been used since the time of the ancient Greeks for its great wound healing ability, and was used often after battles.

An age-old presence on Mediterranean hillsides, helichrysum, also known as “Immortelle” (or everlasting) due to its long-lasting yellow blooms, is a highly versatile plant. Throughout History, it has been used in many wellness traditions and is sometimes paired with clove and/or peppermint to promote supple and hydrated skin.

Using Helichrysum Blended Essential Oil

Bath & Shower

Add 5-10 drops to hot bath water, or sprinkle into shower steam before getting in for an at-home spa experience.

Massage

8-10 drops of essential oil per 1 ounce of carrier oil. Apply a small amount directly to areas of concern, such as muscles, skin or joints. Work the oil gently into the skin until it is fully absorbed.

Inhalation

Inhale the aromatic vapors directly from the bottle, or place a few drops in a burner or diffuser to fill a room with its scent.

Native to the Middle East, galbanum is a tall perennial plant with a hollow stem. The source of its essential oil is its gum resin, which comes from cuts made into the herb’s base and roots. Largely revered for its unique scent, galbanum is present in a number of high-end perfumes.
